We all want amazing things. We pray for breakthrough. And God hears us. But what happens when opportunity comes knocking at your door but you don’t have the capacity to embrace it?
Matthew 25:10: “But while they were gone to buy oil, the bridegroom came. Then those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was locked.” (KJV)
Only those who were ready went in. The ones who were not, had that doorway of opportunity locked. That is how we lock ourselves out.
Mark 13:35-36: “Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.” (KJV)
Sleeping in the physical is good for rest. But sleeping as far as the spiritual posture is concerned is dangerous. You lose out on opportunity and much more. Keep watch. Be ready.
Ecclesiastes 9:11: “I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.” (KJV)
When it comes to opportunity, as far as time and chance is concerned, even faculties of strength, wisdom and skill are rendered irrelevant when the opportunity finds you asleep. At times, it just might not be God’s time. But at times, you lock yourself out. That is how even the strong or the swift can miss the battle. There is a time for everything under the heavens. Let that time find you awake and ready. Let’s be ready in season and out of season!
